How can I view live footage or play back recordings?
Method 1: Connect the NVR to a monitor or TV for live viewing or playback;
Method 2: Download FREE Reolink App or Client, add the NVR to the App or Client, configure the settings, and then you can view live footage or play back recordings.
How long can the security camera system store video footage?
The storage duration depends on the video bitrate.
For the RLK8-1200D4-A (New Version, Supporting AI Video Search), with a default bit rate of 8192 kbps per camera, the pre-installed 2TB HDD can store footage from 4 cameras for approximately6 days.

For longer storage, you can expand the NVR's storage capacity.
Does this security system work with Google Assistant?
Sorry, this security system cannot work with Google Assistant.
How many displays can the Reolink NVR be connected to?
You can connect the NVR to up to two displays via HDMI or VGA (see the diagram below).

What's the difference between buying separate cameras and NVR vs. buying a complete security system?
The cameras in the kit are designed to work exclusively with the Reolink PoE NVR and cannot function on their own. However, if you purchase standalone cameras and an NVR separately, the cameras can operate independently.
Additionally, the network cables included with the kit are 18 meters long, while those for standalone cameras are 1 meter.
What Ethernet cable can I use? What is the maximum distance between the camera and NVR?
The kit includes four 18-meter Ethernet cables for the four cameras. You can replace them with longer cables if needed.
Reolink PoE cameras support CAT5, CAT5E, CAT6, CAT7 Ethernet cables with 8 PIN. The maximum supported cable length is 330ft (100m). Please note that this data is based on testing with a standard CAT5E cable under specific conditions and actual performance may vary.
Does my other Reolink security camera work with RLK8-1200D4-A (New Version with Perimeter Protection)?
Yes, but some features may not be supported. For example, if the camera doesn't support Perimeter Protection natively, the feature will not be available when used with this system. For more information, please contact [email protected].
