Functions
Where can I find the Heatmap Analysis?
This feature is only available on the NVR, neither the Reolink App nor the PC Client. A monitor is required, which is connected to the NVR through the VGA port or HDMI port.

How can I know the footage duration that an NVR with various storage capacities can store?

Does the NVR support the person/vehicle/animal detection of my Reolink cameras?
Yes, RLN4E supports the Person/Vehicle/Animal Detection feature.
How to expand the NVR storage capacity?
You can purchase an HDD for the NVR. The currently on-sale RLN4E supports Max. an 8TB HDD (without the eSATA port).
Can I add a PoE switch?
Yes, there are 3 methods.
Method 1: Plug the PoE NVR and the PoE switch to the same router via Ethernet cable. Then plug the PoE cameras into the PoE switch or PoE NVR.
Method 2: Plug the PoE switch into the PoE NVR, and then connect the NVR LAN port to the router.
Method 3: Plug the PoE switch to your router, then connect the NVR LAN port to your PoE switch.

Note: By adding PoE switches, you will not expand the number of cameras supported by the NVR, since its video channels are immutable.
Can I connect the NVR to the router wirelessly?
No, the NVR can only connect to the router via an Ethernet cable.
Can I connect the NVR to the third-party cameras?
It's not suggested to do so. Compatibility issues may occur with third-party cameras. Please contact our support team if you have any concerns about protocols.
How many wired IP cameras (including PoE & plug-in Wi-Fi cameras) does this NVR support at most?
The NVR has 4 PoE ports, allowing a maximum of 6 cameras, 4 PoE cameras and 2 wired/battery Wi-Fi cameras. If you connect it with a PoE Switch (sold separately), the NVR can support 6 PoE IP cameras, max.
Does the RLN4E support OMVI 3i PoE?
Yes. It is compatible with the OMVI 3i PoE.
Is Heat Map available on the Reolink App?
No. Heat Map is only available on the NVR and is not supported on the Reolink App or PC Client.
Does the RLN4E support Intelligent H.265+/H.265/H.264 video compression?
Yes. It's available only when the camera itself supports Intelligent H.265+/H.265/H.264 compression.
Does the NVR support AI Video Search?
Yes. Before using AI Video Search, download the AI model files to your HDD or microSD card and install them. For detailed instructions, please refer to Before Using Al Video Search on Your Reolink NVR.
How many battery-powered Wi-Fi cameras does this NVR support at most?
RLN4E can support up to 6 cameras in total. The number of battery-powered Wi-Fi cameras it supports should be the maximum minus the number of wired IP cameras connected.
