How can I configure Surveillance Rules for Reolink Professional Series cameras?
Is a subscription fee required for Reolink PoE cameras?
No. Reolink PoE cameras work independently without subscription fees. You can use person/vehicle/animal detection, local storage, and other features at no extra cost.
What do the letters and numbers in the model name mean?
PR = Reolink Professional Series
PC = PoE Camera
PT = Pan & Tilt
8M = 8MP
21Z = 21X Optical Zoom
What is 3D Zoom? How can I use this function?
3D Zoom allows the camera to automatically pan, tilt, and zoom into a selected area on the screen, without manual step-by-step control.
Can this camera be used outdoors/indoors?
Yes. It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
With IP66 weatherproof protection and an operating temperature range of -30°C to 55°C (-22°F to 131°F), it performs reliably in harsh conditions.
How do I use live view and playback?
Add and set up the camera in the Reolink VMS Client or App. Then select the device to access live view and playback anytime, anywhere.
Can I turn off the spotlights?
Yes. You can turn off the spotlights manually or adjust their brightness.
By default, the spotlights are motion-activated and turn on when movement is detected. With spotlights enabled, you get full-color night vision. If turned off, the camera switches to black-and-white night vision.
Can I turn off the siren?
Yes. The siren can be turned off via the Reolink App, Client, or NVR interface.
How can I power up this camera?
There are two methods:
Via an Ethernet cable, connect the camera to a PoE NVR, PoE injector, PoE switch, or directly to a router with a PoE port, for both power supply and video signal transmission.
Note: Please make sure that the PoE injector/switch is 802.3at compliant (48V) and supports active mode.
Via its DC 12V 2A power adapter for power supply only.
What kind of microSD card can I use?
Up to 512GB microSD card (FAT32 format, Class 10 or higher). (Not included)
Can this camera support time-lapse function?
Yes. The camera supports time-lapse, and files can be saved to the microSD card.
Can I use this camera with Synology?
Yes. This PoE IP camera works with Synology in two ways:
Method 1 (Recommended):
Add the camera to Synology Surveillance Station. Refer to this setup guide for more details.
Method 2:
Use your Synology device as an FTP server for video storage. Refer to this setup guide for more details.
