Functions
Does the Reolink Video Doorbell (2nd Gen) require a subscription?
No, you don’t need any subscription for using this battery doorbell unless you want to use Reolink Cloud services for cloud storage or rich notification.
Can I pair this doorbell with my mechanical chime?
Yes. In Battery Mode, the doorbell can ring a compatible mechanical chime when connected to an 8–24VAC, 5VA–40VA transformer.
In Wired Power Mode, keeping the mechanical chime active requires 16–24VAC power and the RLA-PK1 Power Kit (sold separately).
What kind of chimes can be added to this doorbell?
This doorbell supports Reolink Chime Plus (sold separately) and pairs with up to 5 chimes. Reolink Chime V1 and V2 are not supported.
Is the doorbell compatible with Reolink Home Hub？
Yes, it works with Reolink Home Hub. When connecting doorbells to the hub, you can set different chime tones for different Reolink doorbell cameras.
How long does the battery last, and can I hardwire the doorbell?
You have ultimate flexibility. Powered by the Qualcomm® Micro-Power Wi-Fi solution, the doorbell delivers up to 300 days of battery life on a single charge*. For continuous, eco-friendly power, pair it with a Reolink Solar Panel (0.6W). In Battery Mode, the doorbell can get trickle charging when it's hardwired to an 8–24V AC circuit.
Alternatively, you can connect it to a 16–24V AC power supply and turn on Wired Power Mode for always-on operation, 24/7 continuous recording, and pre-recording.
*Battery life is calculated based on 5 minutes of recording per day. Actual usage may vary.
Does the Reolink Video Doorbell (2nd Gen) support pre-recording and 24/7 continuous recording? Will my existing chime still work?
Yes, it does. Connect the Reolink Video Doorbell (2nd Gen) to a 16-24V AC power supply and enable Wired Power Mode for always-on operation, pre-recording, and 24/7 recording.
Please note that full 24/7 recording will be available when the doorbell is used as a standalone unit. 24/7 recordings will be stored only on the doorbell's microSD card, while motion recordings will be kept on an NVR or Hub (if any).
