Yes, this doorbell is compatible with traditional mechanical chimes and works with transformers ranging from 8-24VAC, and 5VA-40VA.
Does Reolink Battery Doorbell require a subscription?
No, you don’t need any subscription for using this battery doorbell unless you want to use Reolink Cloud services for cloud storage or rich notification.
Which Reolink cameras are compatible with Reolink Home Hub?

What are Event History and Weekly Insights?
Event History collects all 24/7 footage from connected cameras, enabling smart playback of detection events across multiple cameras and video filtering by date range, device, and event type.
Weekly Insights provides statistics on detection events, including daily alarms, alarm types, and involved devices, helping you understand when and where break-ins are most likely to occur.
Can the camera continue recording to Reolink Home Hub when the network connection is interrupted?
Yes, cameras can continue recording and save videos to the microSD card of the Reolink Home Hub during an Internet outage.
Can I connect this battery doorbell to third-party apps, like Home Assistant?
The battery doorbell does not support Home Assistant directly. However, when connected to the Home Hub, it can integrate with Home Assistant, Synology, and other third-party apps via RTSP.
When will the video call feature on the battery doorbell be triggered?
A video call notification appears on your phone when someone presses the doorbell. If it only detects motion from passers-by, it will trigger person detection without initiating a video call.
Will my recordings be at risk if the video doorbell is stolen?
With built-in AES128 privacy protection and advanced on-device encryption, the Home Hub stores your recordings locally. You can secure recordings with an encryption code; without it, no one can access or delete recordings, even if the doorbell or SD card is stolen or reset.
Why is it recommended to connect the doorbell to the Home Hub?
Connecting the doorbell to the Home Hub extends battery life by an extra month, enables RTSP, and supports integration with Home Assistant and Synology. The hub also serves as a chime with customizable ringtones, and it can manage up to 8 devices, acting as a centralized security hub with encryption to keep data secure.
Why can't the doorbell's battery charge to 100% when powered by wire?
To extend the battery’s lifespan, the doorbell uses a trickle charging method. As a result, it will not charge to 100% when connected to a wired power source.
